Participate in this interactive webinar experience on social media and how to best utilize it for your practice. From determining the best social media platform(s) for your needs and setting up profiles to learning about best practices for therapists, Amy will guide you through simple assignments in order to help participants launch their social media campaigns by March 2015.

February 18 (60 Minutes):
In the first webinar, psychologists should be able to decide which social media platform is right for their wants and needs. Target audiences, self-interests, demographics and staff capabilities and availability will be discussed.
Take Home Assignment: Social Media Worksheet

February 25 (90 Minutes):
In this session, participants will learn how to set up various social media profiles including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs.
Take Home Assignment: Set up your profile.

March 4 (60 Minutes):
After setting up their profiles, webinar attendees will be able to start posting after learning tips on best practices including timing, understanding your customer, branding and more. Also in this session, Ms. Dietrich will discuss concerns specific to psychologists.
Take Home Assignment: Publish statuses and/or posts applicable to the chosen social media profile.

March 11 (90 Minutes): Open Q&A
Meet back with Amy Dietrich and ask various questions after a week of posting/publishing. Share experiences with fellow psychologists about what worked for your profile and what did not.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss various social media platforms that are accessible to most therapists
  2. Utilize social media worksheet to assess which social media platform fits the therapist’s needs and wants for his/her practice
  3. Apply the training to effectively set up social media profiles on the appropriate platforms
  4. Utilize tips to prevent dual relationships, difficult situations and to keep the psychologist’s personal life private
  5. Utilize best practices in social media marketing including branding, customer, timing and more

About the Presenter:

Amy Han Dietrich is the Director of Communications and Continuing Education for the Georgia Psychological Association. Ms. Dietrich graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in Public Relations and has over seven years of experience in social media management. She has worked with Moe's Southwest Grill, Hooters of America, the GoPlate, Westin Resorts, psychologists and of course, the Georgia Psychological Association. As the GPA staff liaison to the Ethics Committee and Public Education Committee, Amy has been able to develop a presentation tailored specifically to psychologists in regard to social media.
