Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will be able to describe what an EHR (Electronic Health Record) is.
  2. Attendees will be able to list at least 5 things an EHR can do.
  3. Attendees will be able to explain the difference between an EHR, an EMR and a practice management system.

    CE Hours: 3

    About the Presenter:

Dr. Susan Litton is a clinical psychologist in private practice who also happens to love computers. Her love of computers prompted her to go back to school for further training in the IT field – just because she thought it was fun. When it became time for a senior project, Susan was frustrated with the practice management system she was using with her clients and decided to build a prototype for a new EHR. After graduation, she just kept tinkering with it and five years later, all of the tinkering became PSYBooks, an online EHR/practice management system for mental health therapists like herself. Susan is currently actively engaged in both fields – seeing clients and running PSYBooks.
