This workshop will review current research and best practices in suicide prevention as well as help clinicians to assess their competence in suicide prevention using the APA Code of Ethics as a guide. This workshop will also explore how to support those with lived experience of suicide and suicide loss in an ethical and compassionate manner. The ethical imperative of clinician self-care while working with high-risk clients will also be discussed.

  2. Assess whether they are meeting the ethical mandate to provide competent services to those at risk for suicide and those impacted by suicide, using principles of the APA Code of Ethics as a guide.
