Georgia Psychological Association Survey Policy for Non-Association Purposes
Surveys can be distributed to membership through the e-newsletter if the survey is considered a direct benefit to GPA as an Association or a direct benefit to a GPA member.
Requests for access to the GPA membership will go directly to the GPA President . The Director of Communications will send an email to the contact person of the request informing them of the acceptance or denial of the survey distribution.
GPA will use the following guidelines in determining whether to distribute the survey to GPA members:
If approved by the President, the request will be distributed on the e-newsletter, which is distributed every first and third Wednesday. (The survey must be approved prior to one week of the e-newsletter’s publication date.)
Surveyors also have the option to purchase the GPA member mailing list.
GPA’s Policy on Survey Distribution on Listservs:
In accordance with the APA Social Media/Forum Policy, it is the policy of the Georgia Psychological Association (GPA) to refuse to grant access to its membership via its listservs. Public social networks carry risks and disadvantages for conducting research. Users should be aware of these limitations. Individuals seeking this information will be referred to the Georgia State Board of Examiners of Psychologists where they can obtain a list of Georgia’s licensed psychologists.
Those who inquire will also be advised of the APA’s Policy on Social Media which advocates the use of extreme caution in any endorsement of or forwarding of requests for research participation through any APA-approved Forum (listserv).
