Amy Han Dietrich’s Departure from GPA

It is with mixed feelings that I announce the departure of Amy Han Dietrich, Director of Communications and CE effective, Saturday, October 15.  It is always sad to lose a dedicated, hardworking and consistent top performer.  My consolation is Amy’s excitement and enthusiasm about her decision, as she deems it a step forward in her career.  Amy will be joining the Piedmont Park Conservancy as the Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations.

Amy Dietrich PhotoA skillful task-master who exudes a spark-plug mentality, Amy always remained upbeat, positive and enthusiastic, while achieving win-win outcomes and consistently brought projects to successful completion.  She took the initiative to re-brand the Association to match the new era of psychology.  The website and communications were also overhauled to provide more clarity and integrate widgets from modern day applications. Amy energetically trained the Board of Directors on the new brand, gave them concrete objectives, and empowered them to join her ‘marketing village.’  Her most striking achievement, a remarkable testimony to her ingenuity and talent, is her brainchild, Day for GPA.  The first of its kind for the Association, Day for GPA is a targeted day of giving. During the first year of its inception we exceeded the projected financial goal of the fundraiser. Foreshadowing the future, she respectfully disregarded “how things have always been” and lead with fresh perspectives.

On behalf of GPA President, Dr. Michael Johns and all GPA leaders and members, I sincerely thank Amy for her efforts and stalwart commitment and dedication for the past five years.  I wish her the best of success in future challenges and endeavors.
