Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations of original psychological research to the 2019 Georgia Psychological Association Annual Meeting Student Poster Session.

Submissions Deadline: March 1, 2019

GPA’s Annual Meeting is the official conference of the state association for psychologists. It is a multi-day event featuring workshops and keynote addresses on a variety of topics relevant to the science and practice of psychology. Additional information about this year’s Annual Meeting can be found by clicking here.

As one component of the Annual Meeting, the Student Poster Session provides undergraduate and graduate students a professional forum for presenting their psychological research.

Posters report on original research based on the methodical collection and analysis of data, the application or testing of theory, or a review and synthesis of research. Posters that present new and innovative findings and include implications for practice are encouraged. Posters will be presented in the context of a 1-hour poster session during a Welcome Reception and will be judged on their merit prior to the session. The poster session provides a lively forum for discussions among colleagues and interested browsers. Presenters are responsible for preparing their posters. Posters display the essential contents of the project (i.e., abstract, short narrative, enlarged pictures or graphics, brief discussion).

All poster proposal submissions that include research, and specifically those that have received Institutional Review Board approval or are research activities, will be reviewed.

Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:

1. Appropriateness to conference theme / Originality
2. Importance / Usefulness & practicality
3. Formulation & conceptualization
4. Quality of ideas & analysis
5. Interpretation & conclusion

Note: All submissions are reviewed. Notifications of acceptance will be made by March 11, 2019. Each presenter in a team must register for the student poster session ($15 which includes the Reception). Eligible presentations will be judged for awards including awards for Best Graduate Poster, Best Undergraduate Poster, and Honorable Mention.
