2020 Annual Meeting Student Poster Session

The deadline for submitting proposals has passed.

Friday, May 1, 2020

Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations of original psychological research to the 2020 GPA Annual Meeting Student Poster Session.

GPA’s Annual Meeting is the official conference of the state association for psychologists. It is a multi-day event featuring workshops and a keynote address on a variety of topics relevant to the science and practice of psychology. Additional information about this year’s Annual Meeting can be found by clicking here.

GPA would like to invite students who are interested in learning about and practicing skills in scholarly communication to participate in our poster session activities for 2020.  We hope to represent a range of scientific methods and skill sets, as well as a range of undergraduate and graduate students from programs across Georgia. All students interested in learning and practicing these skills are encouraged to apply. No previous experience in research or conference presentation is needed!

This year, we invite students to submit to one of two tracks for posters.  During submission, please select which track you would like to participate in.

Systematic Literature Review/ Special Studies Track

The goal of this poster track will be to systematically review an area of research within psychology, or present a new idea and related deliverable. We recommend review of the current state of the literature in the area of interest, specifying the gaps or areas that have not been well-studied yet, presenting a systematic review or developing a deliverable to address these gaps, and identifying next steps/research questions that could be asked.

Empirical  Research Study Track

The goals of these posters will be to present data that the student has analyzed, using either qualitative or quantitative methods. We recommend including an introduction to the area of research that prompted the study question and hypotheses, the rationale for using this research design and description of methods, a summary and interpretation of results, and next steps/follow-up research questions that could be asked.
