About

Georgia Psychological Foundation (GPF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to Promote the psychological well-being of Georgians.  GPF is inclusive and values diversity and is therefore seeking support from a wide range of constituents supportive of the Foundation’s purpose, mission and vision.

Collaborative Partnerships

Georgia Psychological Foundation engages in cooperative relationships with organizations that promote free and reduced fee work with populations in need in the state of Georgia.

Public Education and Training

GPF engages in efforts to raise awareness and inform the public about mental health issues, and supports the continued training and promotion of research supported and evidenced-based specialized knowledge and skills for professionals working with marginalized and at risk populations of people.

Commitment to Pro Bono Service

GPF engages in efforts to support free and reduced fee mental health and psychological services to the public through recognition, awards, and training.

PRESIDENT
Rabia Subhani, Psy.D.
  Dr. Rabia Subhani is a neuropsychologist and entrepreneur based in Columbus, GA. Prior to joining the GPF board, she was on the GPA board and served as treasurer. Clinically, Dr. Subhani specializes in telehealth adult assessments for autism, especially for women. Additional professional interests lie in spiritual mentoring, consulting for neurodivergent-affirming practices, and creating programs/apps for the neurodivergent community. 

TREASURER 
Dora Soublis, Ph.D.
  Dr. Dora Soublis is a licensed psychologist. She is the Founder and Director of Soublis Psychological Associates, a private practice located in Roswell, Georgia. Clinically, she provides individual therapy for adolescents and young adults, as well as family therapy and parent consultations. She also conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations. She is a Past President of Georgia Psychological Association and has engaged in multiple leadership roles within Georgia Psychological Association since 2006.  

SECRETARY
Andrea Kozak Miller, Ph.D.
   Dr. Miller is a licensed psychologist and Senior Lecturer at Georgia State University. She previously worked in various roles in higher education, non-profits, and public schools. Dr. Miller is a Past President of the Georgia Psychological Association. She is a passionate advocate for mental health access and training future professionals.

GPA LIAISON
Michelle M. Robbins, Ph.D.
  Dr. Robbins is a licensed clinical psychologist and Chair and Clinical Professor of the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology in the College of Health Professions at Mercer University. She has worked at various educational institutions focused on teaching and training, including Georgia Gwinnett College and Emory University Department of Psychiatry. She is involved in the Atlanta Behavioral Health Advocates and is the current Vice President of the Georgia Psychological Association. In addition to her passion for training competent, ethical clinical psychologists, she has a strong interest in developmental psychopathology, intergenerational trauma, and improving access to quality care for underserved populations.

Kristin J. Carothers, PhD
  Dr. Kristin J. Carothers is a Clinical Psychologist, primarily based in both Atlanta and New York. She is in private practice at Peachtree Integrated Psychology and is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Morehouse School of Medicine. As a clinician, she provides CBT to children, adolescents and adults. She also provides Co-Parenting therapy for families experiencing high conflict.

David L. Jaquess, PhD, ABPP
  Dr. Jaquess is happy to have joined the Foundation Board in 2022. He has held faculty appointments at several universities, most recently as associate professor at Emory University School of Medicine.  He currently is a staff psychologist providing outpatient services at the Veterans Administration Atlanta Healthcare System. In addition, he sees private patients as founding owner of HERE! Psychological Services. Areas of expertise include autism spectrum disorders, pediatric feeding disorders, depression, anxiety, and issues pertaining to sexual orientation or gender identity.


Kip Matthews, Ph.D.
   Dr. J. Kip Matthews is a licensed psychologist and Vice President and Co-Founder of AK Counseling & Consulting, Inc. in Athens, GA. He has previously held positions at Georgia State University and the University of Georgia. Dr. Matthews has served in leadership roles within the Georgia Psychological Association, GPA PAC, and the Athens Area Psychological Association. His clinical interests include sport and performance psychology, career development, and public education.

Alana Miller-Clayton, Ph.D.
  Dr. Alana Miller-Clayton is a licensed psychologist and board certified in clinical psychology. She is currently an outpatient staff psychologist with Kaiser Permanente in the Georgia Region and also maintains a private practice, Tranquility Pointe Psychological Services, LLC. Dr. Miller-Clayton provides services to adolescents and adults, and also sees individuals desiring trauma focused treatment. 

Carla Sutton Moore, Ph.D., LPC
   Dr. Moore is a licensed psychologist and the Founder and Clinical Director of Moore to Life Counseling and Consulting, LLC. She is also the Chief Psychological Services Officer for the City of Atlanta. In this role, Dr. Moore oversees the Public Safety Behavioral Health Wellness Unit and the Psychological Services/EAP Unit. Dr. Moore's interest and research areas include police and public safety psychology, prevention and wellness, racial trauma, and culturally responsive interventions. Dr. Moore is on the Executive Board of the Police Psychology Section and the Fire Service Psychology Association Board of Advisors; and a member of Div. 18.

George Williams, Ph.D.
  Dr. Williams is a licensed psychologist in full-time private practice in Atlanta. GA. His warmth and empathy are instrumental in guiding individuals and couples through emotional tumult working with them to revitalize relationships, navigate stress and anxiety and bring about a better understanding of self-awareness. Dr. Williams offers a compassionate and ethical approach serving those dealing with depression and/or mending from trauma. He is passionate about getting the word out in a preventative manner for the benefit of mental health. Dr. Williams envisions prevention with the expertise of the field to alleviate much suffering. In addition to his forty plus years of clinical work he has worked in many areas of community service. His leadership in various services has allowed him to utilize the body of psychological knowledge into health care, cancer support, non-profits, and professional organizations. He has served and continues to serve on various boards.
