Workshop Description:
These days, it’s hard to imagine an aspect of our practice that technology DOESN’T touch. But how do we know what works and what doesn’t? How do we use technology in ways that are both ethical and HIPAA compliant? We’re tasked with educating our clients about using technology wisely and safely. This workshop will teach you what you need to know so you can teach THEM. We’ll cover apps, telehealth and other clinical uses of technology as well as using technology for common practice management tasks. Come with questions! Let’s learn together and hopefully have fun doing it. (Intermediate)
Learning Objectives: 1. Attendees will be able to discuss HIPAA as it pertains to using apps in a clinical practice. 2. Attendees will be able to discuss the pros and cons of storing client records on the Web. 3. Attendees will be able to list three things they may need to educate their clients about in reference to technologies they intend to use in their practice.
