Motivational Interviewing (MI) 101: A Crash Course Refresher

Workshop Description:

This introductory workshop is for Learners who have limited prior training in or exposure to motivational interviewing (MI) or for those wanting a refresher. Training will provide a fast-paced and fun overview of the principles, spirit, tasks, and skills of MI, with updates from Miller and Rollnick’s newly released,
Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change and Grow (2023).

Level: Introductory

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify how the principles, spirit, and tasks of MI work together in guiding people
    towards change
  2. Delineate each of the OARS skills

About the Presenter:

 

Megan Benoit Ratcliff, PhD, MPH is a licensed clinical psychologist and behavioral
health consultant. She received her Masters in Public Health in Behavioral Science from Emory
University. She received her Doctorate from the University of Georgia with additional residency
and fellowship training at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, Children’s
Healthcare of Atlanta, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She joined the Motivational
Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) in 2014. She has facilitated trainings in Motivational
Interviewing for over ten years, with clients including United Way of Atlanta, Georgia
Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, and Children’s Healthcare of
Atlanta.


Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Karen Carroll via email (operations@gapsychology.org). A $35 cancellation fee will be retained for any cancellations prior to one week before the event. No refunds will be given within one week of the event.
